Before we reached Abe's Farm, we took a quick stop at Aling Lucing's for lunch. We heard and read that it's one of the must-try restaurants or eateries in Pampanga. Aling Lucing was the one who invented the popular sisig dish in the 1970s.

I just found out that this October 17 is the 24 Hour Readathon Day! Are you ready to have an intimate day with your book of choice? This is the perfect opportunity to do it so you better grab it! Since it's October, you can start reading your line-up of horror stories. You can also start removing books from your To Be Read pile bit by bit. But make sure to do your errands, shower beforehand, and have snacks with you. You can also take 5-minute break intervals for your mind to rest. Join me by participating in this readathon!
Happy Reading!

A quick remedy for stress and burnout is a vacation during the long weekend. My friends and I were finally able to do our long overdue plan of going out of town. We were supposed to go to Baguio but there was a typhoon during that time and the place was in a bad state.

Last Sunday's sermon reminded me to be thankful for what I have and for what I am today. The main point is to be content. Forget envy, jealousy, and greed. That's why it made me think of this question. "What are you thankful for?" At first, we would all think of the material things we just received. But I want you all to think deeper. That's why for my next challenge--the same way Pastor Peter Tanchi challenged me--I want you to count your blessings and why you are grateful for it. Here is mine:
1. Relationships
I am thankful for my family that's always been there to love and support me; my friends, who make every day interesting with their different personalities and take on life; to new people I can't wait to meet; and for the people who molded me to who I am now.
2. Work
I am thankful for the daily challenges I face to accomplish different tasks that test my skills and abilities; for the various experiences I was able to garner.
3. The Ability to Read
I am thankful for the ability to discover one world to another, new characters to love and hate, new stories to share with my friends and family. How can you say no to receiving a novel with a smooth cover that you love to rub on your face; with a scent that is as addicting as any perfume; with pages that promise more than you expected.
4. Sense of Humor
I am thankful for the ability to be witty and to deliver punchlines on the right time. It's my way to bring joy to people and help cheer them up when they're down. It's also my way of turning the mood lighter and creating a more positive vibe.
5. Today
I am thankful for every single day. It just means that there is more room for improvements, changes, mistakes, and experiences.
Again, I'm challenging my friends to answer the same questions! Hello Jovel, Rashmi, Helen, Roch, Danna, Christine, Gerlie, Kat, Kim, Justin, Algel, Abi, Inah, Marion, and Heather Holden.
