Sunday Social: People Come and Go When You Let Them

The past few weeks were filled with "I'll see you again soon" and goodbyes. I never saw this coming. Perhaps, I did but I chose to ignore the truth; the reality that started to creep in my life day by day. This was because it's always been hard for me to let go and bid farewell especially if they've made a mark in my life. Clearly, I've been struggling to detach, but I asked myself, "Why should I?", when I could still continue the bond from a distance.
People do come and go but it's a case to case basis. Some chose to leave and disconnect. Others chose to because you pushed them to. Some leave due to circumstance, but it is your choice to let them or not. If you feel a gap between the two of you, look back and think because maybe you were the one who move away further, and never even tried to reach out.
Take the time to send messages and catch up with them by using social media. Still include them in conversations to make them feel that you still remember them and that their presence still matter. Update them once in a while. Give them time when you can.
Here are some short notes that I made for the people that I will always cherish:
To Rashmi, you will always have space in our lunch table. I will be forever your Olives buddy, and I'm still looking forward to our series updates, Dean talk, and our world domination. By the way, we feel your presence whenever we eat sour mangoes. Haha. :P May you find true happiness in this new journey of yours.
To David, you still owe me a Karaoke night. We will miss your crazy sabawness, twin brotha from anotha motha. I wish you all the best in your future endeavours, and I believe you can do great things in your own way.
To Vincent, seeing you once again is always worth it. I hope our next meeting would be longer. I'm sure it will be.
To Angela, I guess we are better in being spontaneous than planning our meet-ups. Unfortunately, we weren't able to document it but the short catch-up we had will always unforgettable like the first. It's sad that you will be going again soon and we are living our lives apart, but I'm still more than happy to see you grow your talents while reaching for your dreams.
