To celebrate the Chinese New Year this 2018, Vivo launched a special photo contest but first involving a few well-known lifestyle bloggers for a first taste. Held last February 3 and 4 at Binondo in Manila, Vivo invited 18 lifestyle bloggers for an eventful photo walk around the oldest China town in the world.

While I was browsing my files, I saw folders of images that I haven't seen or touched for a year. One of these was when I covered an Avon event for their new fragrance then called Avon Cherish. It was a beautiful event. From the venue to the setup, to the food, and guests, it's perfect. Uncovering this made me somehow miss doing it.

Avon: I Share The Fight & 130 Million Steps to Fight Breast Cancer
Avon, the leading direct-selling company is known for supporting a number causes that matter most to women. Every October, they raise funds and awareness for breast cancer through their Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer campaign.

Since the next Asia Pop Comicon event will happen this month, I figured that I'll have to share my 2015 experience. I know it's too late (Hello!? After a year lang na-post plus 10:30PM na ano na!?). But life has been a pain in the ass for weeks now. So bear with me. :P

Since Fashion Week is being held in several cities all over the world, let me share with you a local fashion show we covered for work last 2015! Once again, Rustan's brought us to different fashion capitals with their collections. From laid back to formal wear, they also showcased numerous styles. See my photo diary below:

Last December, I was lucky enough to cover another Avon event which I consider one of my favorites. The Avon 24K Gold Glam Master Class with Lala Flores was a makeup tutorial that every girl would be lucky to attend to. From basic steps to adding a touch of glam, name it! Lala had it covered.

One of the things I've learned from Avon is that they are always willing to give back to their Representatives and to all the women out there. One of their rewards or surprises is that they let their hard-working representatives meet their endorsers. One of the visit I witnessed was with Julia Montes at Taft Branch. Even just for an hour or so, you can see the smiles on their faces and the happiness in their eyes by getting the chance to see their idol. Nothing compares to that experience.

Last November 10, 2015, I covered a mini slumber party held by Avon Philippines to welcome their new Avon Fragrance endorser, Jessy Mendiola, and the launch of their new scent, Sheer Passion. I'd say that it's one of my favorite event set-up since the theme was really attractive to the eye and loyal to the personality of Sheer Passion.

My long time dream finally came true last August 27, 2015, when Imagine Dragons decided to include the Philippines to their Smoke + Mirrors Tour! Yay! I remember even telling my friends, Nike of The ElectroMagnetChick and Jovel of The Misadventures of Pooh that without a doubt, I will buy a ticket immediately if Imagine Dragons will hold a concert here and they did. That's why my friends and I ended up buying some Lower Box tickets. But luck came to our side when one of our friends got VIP passes and who can't say no to that. So we decided to give our tickets to our other friends, what can we say, the more, the merrier, eh? Here are the highlights of one of my best nights in 2015!

The first few days of January will be a filled with recaps of 2015 events and adventures. Starting off with the annual Avon NASCON event. Just to give you all a background, it's that time of the year where all the franchise dealers and representatives gather in one venue to get the numbers on their sales for the past year, to get updated with the latest products and deals, rewards they can get, and some sneak peek for the new collections that were released last December. Here are the highlights:

Last May 07, I had the lucky chance to watch Katy Perry Live In Manila with my good friend, Nike of The ElectroMagnetchick. It will be my first time to see her and hear her in person plus we were able to snag VIP seats! How awesome is that? It was held in the Philippine arena, making The Prismatic World Tour one of the biggest concerts this 2015. Nike went all out with her Left Shark onesie from Authority Hoodie. Catch a glimpse of what went down that night below!

That's all for today's quick post!

Hello, everyone! It's Thursday which means throwback posts are allowed today! Since there will be another Slidefest event this month, I would like to share my summer experience! The heat and fatigue were totally worth it. My friends, Nike, Roch, her brother, Richard, and I bought VIP passes for the event. If you're interested in going with your family or barkada this September 26 & 27, I suggest that you buy the VIP pass. It's totally worth it because Nike and I were able to slide in 9 or more rounds. Plus, the lines are really long for the daytime passes so you might get really bitin! You have to wait for your turn and after a round or two, your turn will be done without you realizing it. Unlike with the VIP line, you can just go through easily again and again.

Go really early, too, so you could have a headstart. Because it will be really hot (unless it rains), wear a rash guard and swimming shorts with a cycling shorts material. My inner thighs were grazed and wounded due to the heat and wet shorts causing friction on my skin. You can also bring your own floaters if you want, but there will be a lot of available ones provided by the organizers and sponsors, too! Everyone will surely fight with each other to get dibs on the Havaianas floaters that are limited. Lucky, I was able to ride one.

There will be guides on how you will ride the floaters. Make sure that your elbows are in and not touching the floor so your ride will not stop instantly, get friction wounds, or get unexpected injuries. Raise your leg up high so your floater will slide faster. Don't leave your slippers on the start of the slide because you will have to walk a long way before you reach the slides again. Hold on to it or just wear it.

There are two kinds of slide available. One is with clean water and the other is with foam. Make sure to try both as much as you can. In the foam slide, don't talk or open your mouth once you are moving because you don't want to eat the soapy bubbles. But you can smile for the cameras waiting for you in the middle and towards the end of each slide. There will be a shower area where you can rinse and stay cool. Plus, you can also party with your friends while showering since there will be music blaring all over the place.

Bring your GoPros with you and put your phones in a water-resistant case so you can cover the event. The long walks will be a good work out for you so best to have fun and enjoy the experience. Also make sure to put sunscreen every now and then to protect your skin. If you are hungry, you need to go to the bathroom, or you need to change, there will be a lot of food stalls, bathroom & changing stalls in the area. There will also be a place allotted for you to keep your things for safe-keeping. So make sure to put a lock on your bags. There will be a lot of freebies and games, too, so make sure to try them. If you are VIP, there will be a bag of goodies for you to enjoy. There will also be shirts for you to choose from as it comes for free with your pass!

Back with a vengeance, Ruffa Guttierez is again an ambassador for Avon Fashions jewelry line. With beauty queen elegance and radiant sophistication, she is the perfect aspirational match. Last August 10, she visited the Taft branch to show appreciation to the members and to showcase her new collection.

She was warmly welcomed by the Avon Representatives as she graced the room with her presence. All eyes on her and everyone couldn't stay on their seats just to see her and take a photo. She gladly returned the smiles and enthusiastically talked to the crowd.

Aside from seeing some of the Ruffa collection, she also shared a few fashion and confidence tips with the ladies--from color choices, corporate looks, and accessorizing to how they should present themselves to their sukis (frequent buyers) or customers.

Ruffa also shared her favorite among her collection. She even mentioned that she frequently use these accessories to some of the events she attended and also in her tapings.

After the presentation, the floor was open for some of the Avon Reps to ask Ruffa a few questions or advice.

I had to admit that it was fun. Many of us might think that the Ruffa Guttierez is hard to approach, but she is actually very accommodating, warm, funny, and very witty. Even I shared a few laughs during her Q & A portion.

I like how she complimented the Avon Reps too when she saw them.

Some questions were no holds barred but she was still cool enough and really game to answer them.

It might have been short, but it was a fun experience to witness such an up close and very personal event.
A long overdue post on what went down at the Avon Flourish Gala Night which I attended for work last May. I have to say that I have learned a lot about the brand, and on how it touched the lives of many people, and on how it really helped them reach their dreams. With perseverance and will power to give their all for their family, numerous inspiring women can attest that Avon is not just a brand that endorses beauty, but it also serves a purpose.
This post will be short, in terms of words, but a long photo dump of the said event's highlights:

To start the event, Xian Lim performed a song for the audience.

Atom Araullo hosted the event.

Angel Locsin for Avon Makeup

Introduced as the new Skin So Soft ambassador, Ina Raymundo performed a sizzling dance number.

Georgina Wilson for Skin So Soft

Enrique Gil made all the ladies swoon with his song and dance number.

Avon Fashions was happy to welcome back, jewelry ambassador, Ruffa Guttierez.

Because it's her first gala night with Avon, Simply Pretty ambassador, Kathryn Bernardo sang Mr. DJ for the audience.

Richard Yap and Angel Locsin for Avon Fragrance

He can't leave the stage without singing a song.

The event ended with JM de Guzman serenading the crowd, and an awardee.

It was another fulfilling event and I couldn't have done it without my amazing team. :)
