I can still remember when my office mates and I rushed to Rockwell Powerplant Mall to join them celebrate their second anniversary last November 27, 2015! I forgot the name of the burger but I know what made me choose it: jalapeños! Who can't resist this juicy blend with a bit of a kick? But other than that I'm currently craving their onion rings!

So here I am trying to fill in all the tasks due and tasks I need to do in advance this lazy and humid Sunday. I was actually answering some queries and trying to keep that red number on top of the page to a minimum when I was finally inspired to write this short post. I have to do this quick since I'm barely there yet and I still have so many things on my plate. Anyway, I'm sharing this quote which I feel like my current state is. I found myself in a recurring loop of striving hard and working too much. There's a thin line, eh? But these two dispositions are actually different. The former, being what I feel right now, means I still want to push myself and prove myself. I know there is more than I can do than this. While the latter just means you're letting your fire burn too fast that it will eventually reduce you to smoke and ashes if you're not careful. There was a time that I nearly finished the wick of my candle. But here I am trying to be more positive and sunny about it. I still believe that it's a matter of changing how you think about things, how you take them--if you will absorb the negativity or not--and balancing all your passions at the same time. It's finding that little light in every obstacle you encounter and every boss monster on that level of the game you face. If you need to take a break, please do. If you need to play a game, read that book, draw or paint, or even binge eat, you're welcome to do so. As long as you give yourself a breather once in a while. Heck, you can also give yourself that damn pair of shoes you've been drooling over or a rack of dresses. All that matters is you never lose yourself in the process and hold on to it through your favorite things. Thank you, Sound of Music for reminding me.
After Abe's Farm, we made our way to C's Italian Dining for dinner. My friend, Nike of The ElectroMagnetChick introduced us to this restaurant which every pizza lovers should visit. She told us that before Dear Darla came out, C's already have their panizza recipe to take pride on.

Before we reached Abe's Farm, we took a quick stop at Aling Lucing's for lunch. We heard and read that it's one of the must-try restaurants or eateries in Pampanga. Aling Lucing was the one who invented the popular sisig dish in the 1970s.

Aside from missing my zen--which I rarely have these days due to my colds, cough, nausea, headache, and the daily drama of life--I am also craving for Zentea. The last time I had one was last May when I saw their booth in the Slidefest event. Ordering a large Naicha plus Ate Rica's Bacsilog was one of my favorite lunch combos during my college days. How I wish I can enjoy both again in a daily basis. #thisiswhyimfat #butwhocares
Anyway, just inserting a bit of writing in today's agenda which is to finish my deliverables (if there's any), requests, and get more sleep as mandated by my mom. I don't know what's happening to me, but clearly I need to detox the things I don't need in my life.
Hope you all have a good start for this week!
Love lots, xx

Looking for a place to hang out today? Why not try visiting Buffalo Wild Wings in Capitol Commons? It's a very fun and lively place to be during the weekends. I decided to catch up with my good friend, Justin of I am the Blue Devil here and it was definitely entertaining. It was a bit rowdy that we had to shout at each other to hear our conversations because the music was blaring loudly while someone was speaking in the microphone. So if you are looking for a quiet place to stay, I suggest you move along. But if you want to just enjoy the night, this is definitely the place to be. Plus, the food was good and served in large servings.

The Sampler
I remember that I have been craving for jalapeños at that time that I can't stop munching on them. I want all my food to be filled with it. Crazy, right? But to be fair to my friend who doesn't eat spicy food as much as I do, we ordered a mixture of every bites or appetizer they have. I love the Jalapeño Pepper Bites and their Spinach Artichoke Dip is a must try. If I could take it home, I would.

Screamin' Nacho Burger
Two grilled Slammer patties Chipotle BBQ seasoning, corn tortilla chips, pepper jack cheese, jalapenos, pico de gallo, and a drizzle of southwestern ranch dressing
My friend, Jaba of Between The Buns suggested this to me. I love the juicy meat that I tasted in every bite. It was crunchy because of the nacho chips inside. The sauce was also perfect for my taste. It was a good meal and a must-try.

Juicy Steak Burger
Hickory smoked pulled pork, fried onion rings, cheddar cheese and their signature Honey BBQ sauce on a mouth-watering burger.
The budget is about P500-P700/head. It's also the best venue to watch and enjoy your favorite sports.

"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take." -- Wayne Gretzky
Everything is definitely a risk. Some we are willing to pay, some we are caught by surprise. It's like choosing the right drink for you from a line of shots. You'll never know which is too strong, sweet, or will suit your taste. Best to take your chance even when you know the odds are against you!
Just a little thought to ponder.
Have a great Friday everyone!

Here's a delightful way to start your day! Aside from the well known custaroons from Gigi Gaerlan Custaroonery, you should also try their Custaroon Poppers.

These are actually custaroon balls coated with premium chocolate powder concoction. I'd say, it's a classic favorite with a twist. You can get a box of 25 original for P330 and 25 coffee, green tea, chocolate or assorted for P410.

Definitely heaven in every bite.

Happy long weekend, everyone! I hope all of you are having a great time resting and enjoying whatever it is you are doing or wherever you are right now. I'm currently scheduling posts while doing a bit of work, and watching Teen Wolf. Then maybe, I'll end the day reading. Anyhow, I'll be sharing with you today my Alqueria experience with friends and family.
My first try was when my friends and I skated, and I celebrated my birthday on the second try. It was a delicious experience. I love trying out new food that is worth every penny. If you're on a budget, it could be a bit pricey but it's best to share it with friends. You'll save more over fun conversations and a hearty meal. There are actually more options for me to try but here are my favorites so far:

Huevos Con Chorizo. Just mix it all together, and you'll get that perfect texture.

Paella Quezo Manchego. Who doesn't love cheese? You're definitely missing out on life.

Churros with Chocolate Dip. A perfect way to end the night.

Rehydrate yourself with their must-try refreshments.

Of course, every trip must come to an end. But before we left paradise, it was a must for us to check out some restaurants in the area. So we chose to visit Ka Inatô. Nike have been there before with her family and they've mentioned that the food there was delicious and just right for your budget.
I wasn't able to take photos of the place but it was truly a mixture of food and art. You can just catch up and dine while appreciating quaint art around you.

I ordered their spicy chicken inatô, or what we all know as chicken inasal. I was craving for anything spicy during that time and this didn't disappoint. It was really hot inside and on the surface. Mind you, I also have soysauce with calamansi and lots of chili.

We also tried their sisig, and it looked and tasted oh so good!
It is definitely a place to visit whenever you're around the area.

Ever held a game night in your life? My friends and I love doing a game night once in a while. We take out our favorite board games and also have a cook-off because we usually do it before or after dinner. But sometimes, it's so hard to think of what food to prepare especially if last minute. But everything is possible and anyone can definitely concoct quick recipes with Clara Olé.

Before the Manny Pacquiao game, I attended the Clara Olé Potluck Food Fest: Game Night. It was held at Amvel Mansions in Parañaque. The Clara Olé Potluck Food Fest gathers homemakers, condo dwellers, and those who love hosting parties at home. They just need to bring their own Clara Olé creations to participate.

Since the MayPac fight was already near (during that time), the place was decorated with Pacquiao and Mayweather photos with tips on the table. We were even given name tags with Team Pacquiao or Mayweather on it.

Here are our favorite Clara Olé products. I wondered what foods will be made using these. We arrived early so the food was not served yet except for this tasty drink.

I thought syrups can only be used on pancakes, ice creams, or desserts. But with Clara Olé, you can actually mix a drink with it. This was actually made of dalandan soda and the Clara Olé Truly Fruity Blueberry Thrill Syrup.

For starters, they started serving pica-picas with this Clara Olé dip.

Then, they finally set the banquet with the following:

More than the potluck, Clara Olé also allowed the guests to share their #DiskarTips so people could also learn new hacks and tricks. Moreover, Clara Olé also invited Chef Kat from Wicked Kitchen and Photographer Mike to teach the guests on how to create Instagram-worthy food!

Aside from cooking delicious and hearty meals, we should also consider doing good plating to serve to our guests. You don't have to do it hotel style but nice enough to impress. Chef Kat showed us how to balance the colors of the food for it to stand out. Like this red pasta, you should top it off with greens not with ingredients in the same color.

After plating, Photographer Mike taught us how to take good photos of our food without using a professional camera. You just need your phone, learn how adjusting, contrasting, and filter works, and find proper lighting. After that, we definitely feel like Instagram pros.

Even Ms. Amy Perez was able to do it without lifting a finger.

Thanks to them for bringing the delightfully, good Clara Olé foods!

Here's Ms. Amy Perez showing us how she did her own plating.

Of course, I didn't pass up on the chance to take a photo with her since a lot of people kept saying that she looks like my mom.
The Clara Olé event was truly worthwhile. I definitely had fun trying out the tasty food! I'd absolutely share these recipes with my mom!
