I think this is one of my favorite graphic novels to date. It's quirky, it's fun, perfect for every kid at heart.
It's too bad I've been seeing low-rating reviews about this but it didn't sway my decision. I've raved about this to a former friend because I just can't get enough of it.
Art wise, it's just adorable. It's light, refreshing, and very kid friendly. It has the same style or perhaps, it will remind you of the following cartoons: Adventure Time, Steven Universe, and We Bare Bears. I'm sure those who love kiddie types of art will fall in love with it.
When it comes to the storyline, I don't know about you, but I ended up smiling and laughing. It's just a feel-good story about a budding friendship among this group of girls. You won't feel anxious or stress while reading it. It'll just remind you of your childhood barkada (friends) and how you all enjoy goofing around. I like the characters. I love how their different personalities complement each other. It's also important for me to see how the characters were depicted in various shape, color, and size. It clearly shows diversity and represents reality. But among them, April stood out for me. She's just the right balance of sweet and spice. I also can't get enough of its spot on humor and puns.
Overall, this book will surely leave a smile on your face. it's time to embrace your youthful side. Pick it up from the nearest bookstore and read it STAT. I definitely recommend it and remember: FRIENDSHIP TO THE MAX!
